MEMBERSHIP

|
|
Members
There are two different kinds of members:
- a). Organisations whose core business is the organisation of trade fairs abroad and who organise a minimum of 4 such projects in a two year period, or a show or shows covering 8000mē net over a 2 year period.
- b). Organisations whose core business is the organisation of group
participation in trade fairs abroad and who organise a minimum of 6 such projects in a 2 year period.
The maximum number of members is 50. It is understood that the membership should represent a cross-section of the global exhibition industry.
The procedure for a new membership is as follows:
- All applications by prospective new members are made to the Secretary General no later than 2 months before the next Annual Members' Internal Meeting.
- In addition to full details of each applicant's organization, the applicant sends a schedule of the applicant's relevant work in the preceding two years.
- The Executive Committee may then recommend that the applicant is invited as a guest at his own expense to attend the next Annual InterEXPO Assemblee. During the Members' Internal Meeting, the applicant gives a short introduction of his activities.
- After this introduction by the applicant, a confidential ballot of all members is then undertaken by the Secretary General.
- A minimum of 75 % of all members present must approve the application for it to be successful. In addition, if a prospective member comes from a country which is already represented in InterEXPO, the member and or all members from that particular country must be in agreement as well.
- After the ballot membership is either confirmed or denied.
A membership may be cancelled at the Annual Members' Internal Meeting if a member ceases to meet the membership criteria, the obligations and spirit of the InterEXPO Membership as set out in these Guidelines and Rules. This specifically but not exclusively refers to absence at two consecutive Annual Members' Internal Meetings and the non payment of the annual membership fee, after appropriate reminders. If a member wishes to discontinue his membership notice must be given to the Secretary General six months before the end of the year. Otherwise the member is obliged to pay the membership fee for the coming year.
